Thanks for posting this. I know it wouldn't have been hard to look up, but I'm lazy. But it did irk me (despite my pride of ownership) to see the billboards claiming "North American Car of the Year" without saying according to whom. According to me? Sure. But I don't carry much clout in the auto press. Billboards didn't even have a visible footnote. Usually making such a claim is accompanied by such info (e.g. MOTORTREND Car of the Year)

The Guardian also had a bit to say about it from the other side of the pond. They've got an entire section on British carmakers, and the MINI appears frequently.
