MINI_Motion is Launched

Some of you may remember this post from March 7th about the future MINI_Motion collection. If not here is a brief descrption of what this collection is all about:

MINI, the world's definitive small car brand, has commissioned industrial designer Yves Behar of fuseproject to create MINI_motion, a new signature collection of apparel and products deisgned to enhance the travel experience, whether driving, traveling on foot, the subway or in the air.

MINI recognizes that many urbanites love driving but switch between their car and another form of transport on almost every journey. And so, inspired by the concept of connected urban travel, MINI_motion makes the change from car to subway to the air that much easier by allowing the user to integrate seamlessly into any form of travel.

Starting today you'll find information about the four initial products under the “Gear up” section of MINIUSA.com. To give you an idea of what to expect in terms of pricing the shoes will list for $119. More information will be available this summer and including a list of retailers. The MINI_Motion will not be availalbe at MINI dealers.

okay, i need the jacket and the shoes. just one question though, are there MINI logos anywhere on these items?

  • http://bridger.us/mini Gabe

Good question. I'm under the impression that there is no MINI logo on the items themselves. I would assume that the tag would say MINI_Motion of course.

  • sruti/chicagochick

that watch is fly as hell.

    i want it.

  • http://bridger.us/mini Gabe

Same here. I need the watch and the Pumas.

The jacket looks wicked and so do the trainers. Shame I just bought my Oakley racing jacket and a new watch afew months ago :(

  • Casey Swenson

I believe it says MINI_Motion on them but the wings are not. The jacket is very nice – but for $625 bucks it is a bit pricey. The shoes at 119 bucks are reasonable for what they are. Most driving shoes cost in that range. The tent is lame, should fire who ever designed that and send them over to pontiac. Isn't it suppose to be pontiac that copies bmw and not the other way around? The watch is neat looking but I refuse to wear a watch. The seat bag is dumb…people do enough othetr stuff already when they should be driving, don't need to give them more things.

  • http://bridger.us/mini Gabe

The tent coming out of a car idea has been around since the 20's – Pontiac just happens to use their tent with a really ugly van. Unfortuantely many people associate the idea with Pontiac now.

  • Jorgeaz

yeah, i saw the pricing. i'll find a way to get the jacket. getting married in Sept so maybe i'll just use wedding money on it :). agree with you on the watch, it's cool but i don't wear one, and the bag, will it fit a powerbook?

  • Casey Swenson

should fit the 12″ but I doubt my 17″ will – i have a backpack to haul around that laptop(err portable desktop)

  • Rob

I got the impression the Tent is like a portable car cover, and goes over the MINI. Hmmm.

I already wear Puma Speed Cats, and have been looking to buy a new pair, so I'm for the shoes. I hope they have more stuff in the future, tho.

        BCNU,
      Rob in Dago
