I started to clean those spots with some denatured alcohol, with the idea of installing my own padding, and what do I find.  Hmmmm, the paint is coming off.  Hmmm, there&#039;s this white stuff under the paint.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That sure looks like plastic to me.  I&#039;ll see if I can get some more photos, but, in the meantime, check your bonnet and see what you have.&lt;/p&gt;

		<description>&lt;p&gt;Seems to me like a fairly simple and effective fix. I will keep an eye on this area of the underbonnet and if it should begin to rub I plan to bring it up to the dealer for them to do the retrofit fix.&lt;/p&gt;
