“I had a chance meeting with a higher-up from MINIUSA in a Rental Car shuttle at LAX and he mentioned in passing that 2004 would also include additional cup holders that connect to the downtube and flip out from the empty space under the console.”
“He did also mention that they would likely also offer it as a part so people could order it if they wanted for older models.”
It looks like MINIUSA was serious when it said it would address the cup holder concerns from the most recent JD Power survey. Only in the US could something like cup holders get so much attention! Interestingly the description sounds vaguely similar to the MINI-FINI cup holder system (hint hint).
<p>In reference to your article on the Cup Holders. I spoke to a BMW/NA MINI executive and have been told that what you wrote about IS A Mini-Fini product.<br />
My source informed me that they will be on the new cars coming in and that they will also be available at dealerships and on the Mini Fini web site for outside the USA.
I'm going to my dealer this week and ask if they have them in. I hate the size of the cup holders in my MINI.

<p>I believe you are correct Michael. MINI-FINI will be making it's products under the MINI name and it looks like the cup-holders might be the first item.</p>
<p>I have emaled and spoken to MINI FINI several times and their products are not out yet.</p>
