The Chicago MINI Motoring Club August Update

<

p>

Just a quick update for those of you in the Chicago region or who are just curious about the progress of the Chicago MINI Motoring Club.

Our membership packets are going out as we speak and the membership numbers are steadily growing. We're now up to almost 40 in just over a month of business. We're having out first membership meetng at Patrick MINI on the 13th and will be participating in the Phil Wicks Midwest Driver Trackdays. We also are preparing for our largest event to date – the MINI Baseball Rally coming up on the 7th of September.

The official launch of our website has been pushed back a bit due to weddings, summer vacations, and it simply being too nice out around Chicago. That being said we have put up a temporary site that should fullfill everyone's needs for the next couple of weeks until work is finished on the final website.

For those of you in the Chicago region who are interested in joining feel free to email me.

The “Let's Make Friends” handout is terrific! I'm going to print some to stock my glovebox. Very cool.

  • jeeves

If the window sticker is as pictured in the topic header, I can hardly wait to get it on my car! Very nice.

Yes – that's the window sticker! Members get two :)

BTW here's the “Lets Make MINI Friends” PDF.

I have left “Lets Make MINI Friends” flyers on two cars in the past week, and got one really nice response back.. Good stuff!

  • Maxwell (Chitown COOP)

OK. Not to be a total dork here…but where is everybody going to be putting the stickers on their cars? I was thinking standard lower corner of rear window position, but that pic on this site has got me thinking.

    Opinions fellow Chi-town geeks?

  • http://bridger.us/mini Gabe

I was actually going to go with the lower right hand corner of the rear window as well. But always having liked the rear side window area of the MINI I wanted to try that first. I'm really pleased with how it turned out – Here's another shot.

  • Steve Rosenblum

This geek will probably put one on the drivers side back seat window, and if I use the second one, it will go on the drivers side lower rear window. Those locations will be the most out of my field of vision from inside the car.

I'm going with the location that Gabe used. I saw it in person and it looks slick.

  • Steven Diver

Looks awesome Gabe! I am looking forward to joining the CMMC very soon.

BTW, I agree with the rear driver's side window sticker placement. Since I have a Union Jack and Old Glory on either side of my rear window, that is about the only place left that is out of my sight lines. Cheers!

  • Maxwell (Chitown COOP)

Wow! Sounds like there's a real consensus on the rear driver's window placement (a la Gabe). See you guys tomorrow…

  • Victoria

I've already put one at the lower right of the hatch window, but I suppose I can move my other sticker from the lower right corner of the rear driver's side window to go along with the crowd. It's so complicated, this fitting in stuff! Here I thought it'd be good to have the CMMC sticker visible to the drivers behind me…

  • http://bridger.us/mini Gabe

Man I can't believe I started a trend here! Can't wait to see them at tomorrow evenings meeting.

  • http://www.chicagominiclub.com Matt

victoria, i put mine in the same place. gabe's spot is already taken by my Gumball 3000 sticker so i don't know where i'm going to put the second one.

  • Victoria

I won't be able to compare notes about sticker placement tonight, but I'm pleased that Matt's joined me in sticker placement :)
