Update: Just heard from the parts manager at a local MINI dealership that the correct part number for the switch bank with all the switches is 61 31 6 917 993. Aparently it is mislabeled on the bulletin.
Original post: I just got off the phone with someone who works with MINIUSA (in after-sales) and he told me that the rear foglight retrofit kits do not have a dedicated switch for the rear fogs. Instead they use one switch to control both front and rear lights. Thus you still can't get the full bank of switches. He believes that this is due to a US regulation that specifies that you cannot have two separate switches controlling both front and rear foglights. Can anyone else shed some light on this? Has anyone out there who has bought the retrofit kit actually got the full bank of switches?
I know on my wife's old Volvo the rear foglights were controlled by the same switch that operated the front fogs. However the switch could move in two directions allowing for independent operation of either.
