just a note from the transportation planners in my office...back in angle parking!
It is the same as head-in angle parking but safer! Instead of pulling directly into the space and having to back out with limited vision into oncoming traffic, this new method allows you to slow with blinker on...back into space with less turning movements than parallel parking. When pulling out, you can better see the oncoming traffic and make a clean and easy merge! In addition other benefits include having the open door "herd" people (read small children)to the curb and having your trunk loading zone at the curb (not in traffic)!

coming to a city near you within the next 5-10 years...you know how slow D.O.T. and engineers change... ;)

As a mod it might be difficult but in theory it should doable with the MINI having the same electrics as the E46 BMW 3 series.

Mr. Bridger Said "It's very doable as it a feature that's now standard on all BMWs."

I'd be interested in seeing that circuitry. That would be a very nice mod.

I know there's someone in the Western New York area that does a good and cheap job of fixing rims, but that would only apply to about 1/10 of 1 percent of the readers here.. heh heh.. Call your dealer, they might be able to help out...

certainly agree ceegee regarding the mirrors...though it would probably confuse me further. Does anyone know of a way to repair the rims after they've been, well, should we say..."scraped?"

Don't forget that 'hotspot' type sticky mirror will also give you a good view of the rear wheels...

flipping the right powermirror all the way down always helps me not scraping the curb and ruining my rims... I wish this would go automatically when putting the car into reverse!

As someone who parallel parks at least once a day I can definitely agree that it is an art form. Of course when you're in a MINI it's almost too easy.
