Our friend Ian Cull recently had a chance to visit John Cooper Works in the UK and has a few pictures to share. You can check his gallery of the visit here: JCW Gallery (2 pages).
If I have time on my upcoming visit I may try to get out there myself. I'm sure a set of those JCW seats would fit right inside my wheeled upright luggage for the trip home 🙂

Thanks Gabe 🙂
I failed to get a picture of a couple of lounge chairs in the showroom that were built from JCW car seats – neat!
Unfortunately they tell me that you cannot get those seats in USA (no side airbags I think).

You should see the poster that Mike & I are holding (or more specifically, the signatures!)

Yeah that's what I had heard as well. Someone from MINI put it to me this way – you just don't sell an accessory in the US that reduces the number of airbags in a car.

Is the SMART Roadster made by the same poeple that make the SMART Pulse? I fell in love with those SMART cars in Paris a few years ago.

But of course my favorite small car is the Deux Chevaux (2 CV). The 4 wheeled bike with an umbrella. Especially with Peter Sellars driving it.

Nice pics Ian thanks for the tour.
I may have to go there when I travel to Gemany this year for the German Grand Prix……R

Ian, did you happen to catch The Tiger Lillies while you were in England? I wish they would come to the USA/LA area…..R

I imagine the SMART Pulse and Roadster are the same company:
http://www.smart.com

Only over for a few days this time, no time to see “The Tiger Lillies” or anything much!
http://www.tigerlillies.com/2003/index.php?main=live
(strange!)

That's one area I'm envious of you eastern folks, you can just hop over to Europe in a few hours. It's 10 – 12 hours from SoCal.

Their not strange just different, HA, HA…………R

On the other hand, you have easy access to my favourite Las Vegas! :)

I haven't been to “VEGAS” since my SCORE offroad racing days. The Mint 400 what a race.

One of my neighbors went to the Mini plant last year and tells me because they [Mini] are paying better than the local business' the town is hurting for workers. Is JCW near that area?……R

“Is JCW near that area?”
In US terms, yes. In England terms, no.
The MINI factory is in Oxford, about 3/4 hour north east of London.
John Cooper Works is on the south coast (near Brighton), an hour or so south of London.

In distance terms, Oxford to Brighton is about 110 miles.

A weekday drive here in The Colonies, eh Mate….R
