According to official release press reports, the Cooper Cabrio 5-speed and Cooper Cabrio CVT will still have a normal Aspirated TRITEC engine rated at 115HP, just like its hardtop counterparts.

This doesn't really seem to jive with BMWs move to increase the HP in the MCS Cabrio but to leave the heavier Cooper Cabrio models with the same 115HP as before.

I wonder if there would be a similar boost in power for the base Cooper cabrio...

I heard something about 170hp at the end of last year; my interpretation then was that it applied to all 2005 MCS ... I wonder what the truth is?

Now the question is can I get my MCS reprogrammed with the cabriolet engine programming to give me 170 hp :-)

I will be following this one closely :-)
