MINIs On Top 2004

Here's an update on the MINIs On Top event for 2004 (via Ian Cull).

The premier North East USA MINI event is coming up fast – MINIsOnTop is set for June 19, 2004 and currently more than 120 MINIs have signed up to attend!

The event begins either at 3:30am in Bar Harbor, Maine, greeting the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean then motoring across Maine to join the rest of the event in New Hampshire – about 40 MINIs have signed up for this long distance leg.

MINIs more interested in sleep than sunrises are meeting at the Loon Mountain parking lot in Lincoln, NH at 10am. This huge meet & greet will allow everyone to put faces to forum screen names, check out everyones MINI modifications and generally have a great time.

From here, there will be a MINI parade along the Kancamagus Highway with photo opportunities of both MINIs and scenery! A lunch stop is planned (bring your own food) followed by more motoring back along the Kancamagus Highway and Bear Notch Road.

Later in the afternoon, starting at 3:45pm every MINI from both Loon Mountain and Bar Harbor will gather at the base of the auto road which ascends Mount Washington. There will be a BBQ dinner, prize giving from the many generous sponsors, speeches, the CD contest, and no doubt some surprises! The day will culminate with a spectacular 8 mile long drive up the auto road, climbing to 6288ft for what will hopefully be a sunset to rival that of last years inaugural MINIsOnTop 2003 event.

If this is not enough, after descending the mountain there will be a gathering at the stage of the Town And Country Inn in Gorham for song, food, drink, etc.
