Like him, I wish they had a 2 seater speedster, rather than a Cabrio. A speedster would have looked better, had a tighter structure and given the MINI brand a more high-performance image.

The Cabrio gives the MINI a more feminine image IMHO. I just puts a less sporting car in the MINI lineup.

Wow, this has taken a turn off topic, hasn't it? :) Here's my vote for the '69 version. A better movie overall, but the '03 version did have a lot of fun 'tricks'.

I am a sucker for British humor....Benny Hill, Mr. Bean, Are you being served?, Faulty Towers, Keeping up apearances, etc.

I don't get American humor much of the time....

But I still think the '03 Italian Job is a more entertaining movie than the '69 version. But let's just leave at their are different movies.

Being a brit I think the original Italian Job is a far far superior film than the 2003 movie.

I think most Americans often just dont get alot of the humour and style of the original and put it down to not being very good.

If they had simply named the movie The LA Job or something then maybe people wouldnt compare the two as much, other than having Minis in the two films they are completely different.

Probably I am in the minority, but I much preferred the 2003 remake of the movie than the '69 original.

It is an entertaining movie with a clean script and gore and violence kept to a very MINImum.

The characters were great and Charlize was spectacular.

Ahhh…British humour is such a lovely thing! Poignant and informative, but with a definite twist. I would have to agree with most everything he said including the atrocious rear view. With looming cost cutting in the near future, I wonder how the “spider” will fare?

I think it is a pretty fair article overall. I agree with the author about the likely horrid rear visibility with the top up and that the car loses some of its appeal once the solid roof is removed.
