iPod/MINI Connector Pricing

Here's some initial pricing info on the iPod MINI kit from Apple and BMW (again from foolsdragon):

Pricing for MINI's iPod I/F kit, part no. 65 11 0 392 139 is $149 retail. The kit is listed as being avaiable later this summer.

Fairly good pricing considering the ICE-Link is $200. Hopefully will have a better understanding of it's functionality soon. I'd like to think it's more than was explained in this previous post.

I hope it has at least the same functionality as the Ice-link and has a cool dock made specifically for the Mini.

Oh yes, the greatest disappointment is having to hide the iPod away in the glove department.

I've heard about a repacement down tube with a flexible gooseneck ipod mount. That would be nice!

Actually I like the idea of tho iPod being placed in the glovebox. There'll be no need to stow it away when parking in the city or elsewhere as i would think it attracts attention like a mobile …

Looks like it does go in the glovebox and you need to create special playlists for it to work with some of the buttons. Check out the good summary over at Gizmodo:

It is now listed on the Apples website. Looks like the kit will only support the 3rd generation iPods and the mini iPods. Guess that means I will be getting the ICE-Link….. http://www.apple.com/ipod/bmw/
