We've got a couple upcoming reviews at MotoringFile that may be of some interest. First off we'll be getting our hands on the iPod/BMW adapter tomorrow. While the review will be of the BMW unit installed in a BMW it'll be identical to the functionality we'll see in the MINI unit.
Next up is still at least a month away but it's probably worth mentioning. MotoringFile will be doing a long term test of a Cooper Convertible. We're still working on the exact details with MINIUSA but we should have are hands on the car sometimes in early September if all goes well.
If you have any questions for us to try to address with either of these review let us know!
<p>That's HOT !!!
Looking forward to the reports!</p>
<p>Looking forward to the review of the ipod adapter!</p>
<p>I still am skeptical about it not being able to hook in if you have a Nav system. ;)</p>
<p>I have the AUX port in my '04 MCS that I use to switch between my iPod and XM Satellite Radio. If I get the iPod/BMW adapter to control my iPod does the AUX port still function? Controlling the iPod with the MFSW would be nice but I still want the ability to hood up my XM Roady too.</p>
<p>I'd like it if you can test the 'Convenience Opening Mode' on the Convertible.</p>
<p>I currently have a 2004 MC and this feature doesn't work with any consistency. After six repair attempts (last one by a Mini field tech) my dealer has told me “there are blind spots around the vehicle and that if I'm standing in one of them this feature will fail”. I have also talked with another dealer’s sales advisor and was told that they don't even mention this feature to prospective buyers due to the inconsistency of it working properly.</p>
<p>I'd like to see if Mini has done anything to solve this anomaly.</p>
<p>Thanks,
Mark</p>
<p>Gabe: Any chance you might be able to determine whether the adapter's features can be utilized through the head unit for those of us who don't have a multi-function wheel?</p>
<p>Shotgun on the convertible!!</p>
<p>Hey, Gabe – any chance you'll loan out the 'Vert for independent test feedback? I'm volunteering if you get tired of motoring around with the wind in yer hair! </p>
