My drive is an hour and a quarter. But, the drive is via Tacconic Pkwy and the Saw Mill River Pkwy in New York...very windy, soft up and downs, wicked fast blind curves, rock out-croppings a foot off the pavement...basically really boring stuff, so I wouldn't want to visit the service center much.

South Florida is one of the hottest MINI markets in the nation. Miami is home to Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, the ad agency behind MINI's clever marketing campaign (They are 5 minutes from my houe). There are 5 MINI dealers in the Miami-Dade, Broward and West Palm Beach counties:

South Motors MINI (Miami)
Braman MINI (Miami)
Lauderdale MINI (Ft. Lauderdale)
Vista MINI (Pompano beach)
Braman MINI of West Palm Beach (West Palm Beach).

So there you go we have 5 dealers on a 70 mile radius.

In Miami you see at least 50 MINis every single day. Miami is MINI capital of the USA.

Even in a place like Washington, DC, the lack of dealers becomes an issue. We live in Alexandria, VA, and our nearest dealer is in Sterling, VA (about 1 1/4 hours away). Our local BMW dealer (only a mile away) has been rumored to have lost their bid for a MINI dealership.

We're almost ready to get one, but the long drive for service is one stumbling block we have to get over.

(sorry... i originally posted this comment at the old thread)
