Here's an update from Alex who is running the MINI armrest group buy started last week:
- The first 30 armrests have arrived on Saturday!
- The first 30 people who have placed their order on the technic forum will receive their armrest within the next few days!
- The price for the armrest including postage & packing is 125 euros (around $152) which is still more than $40 below dealer price!
- Another 70 armrests have been ordered. They should hopefully be delivered at the end of this week!
- Currently I can't take anymore orders via email or the forum so please don't even give it a try 😉 !
- All other people of haven't registered on the forum and placed their orders via email will be “worked on” after I have received the next 70 armrests.
- They will be served on a “first come-first serve” basis.
- The current number of people on the list still exceeds the number of armrest currently available at the dealer as well.
- I will accept new orders in a period of time…
Again lets give Alex and hand for putting this all together!

How do we know if we are on of the one's on the list in the first come first served order of 30 + 70?

In other words… Do I get one? :o)

Thank you Alex for taking on this huge task. I did e-mail but received no response so I am sure I am in the last group. When, and if, you are going to do another group buy please let us know.

I to received no reply, but I'm sure you're flooded with emails, so I understand. If there is a way to reply to those that will be in the second group, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again for this great offer!!!

Hi:

I tried but couldn't register on the forum, but did email and post here, am I on the list?
Thanks!

Alex, it is great that you are doing this. I did send you an email last week and will wait in line with the rest of the riff-raff. :-)

GSK, he has the list posted in the forum, including the first 30 highlighted.

I'm #2 so I'll keep everyone updated in MINI2 as I try to stay on top of things with google translations, shipping, and installation.

He also posted instructions, It's just loosening the seat bolts and sliding its legs under. Should be pretty simple.

Josh, I am also in the first 30 list. Did you already send the payment via PM yet? I didn't because I have not receive the notification email and I would like to pay by PayPal, instead of CC. So, did Alex contacted you already? Thanks.

Frankie,

I'm also in the first 30. Sent payment info via newmini-technik.de PM. “Notification”, as Josh points out, is the list of highlighted names in this post:

http://www.newmini-technik.de/viewtopic.php?p=9946#9946

Payment info is in this post:

I wanted to use PayPal also but I just bit the bullet and sent the info as instructed. Perhaps Alex didn't want to pay the fees associated with PayPal.

Waiting….

Thanks Josh….. Anyone know how to find out if one is on the second set of 70 people that are getting an armrest? I feel like I played the lottery and am scratching off the ticket to see if I won. :o)

Theo, thanks for your input. So, did you receive confirmation from Alex about your payment and updates? Just wonder if I should wait for his notification email before sending payment, as he originally stated … “As soon as I have all armrests together I will contact each of you via mail or PM !.
“

I have sent him PM in that site, but no response from him. :(

Thanks.

Theo,

I'm also in the top 30 and I did the same thing as you did (i.e. I wanted to pay by PalPal, but ended up sending a PM to Alex with my payment info). Like you, I just assumed that Alex didn't want to pay any PayPal fees (and who can blame him).

I also havn't heard anything back form Alex yet, but I'm sure that he's totally swamped. I'm just happy to be able to get the armrest is all.

Frankie,

I never received any notification from Alex. I simply followed his instructions on the http://www.newmini-technik.de forum indicating to PM him with the payment info.

It's a bit hard to do if you don't speak any German. However, if you use the language translater at http://www.altavista.com you can make your way through it quite easily (and the payment info form Alex gave is in English so you don't have to worry about that part – only trying to figure out how to send the PM or PN as it's called in German ).

Thanks for the info, Mike.
Actually, you can go to your profile in that site and change your primary language to English. However, only the buttons, tool-tips and some comments change to English, for the content of the replies and the thread subjects, no, still in German. But at least that can help you navigate the site little easier.

Hi Josh, where did you see the instructions? I browsed the messages on the listing twice but I'm so blind I didn't see it.

Thanks

Frankie,

Frankie,

Ah! I didn't know that. Doing that is a really big help. Thanks!

Huy –

See my post above. Make sure your name is on the highlighted list (first URL) then follow the payment instructions (second URL).

Mike –

After you have set your message board language to english, run the site through AltaVista's “BabbleFish” translator. The resulting translation is often pretty good and sometimes highly entertaining (BMW translated to “dog bark”!).

Cheers!

Theo 8^)

Thanks Theo. I'm actually 4th on the list and I did manage to get the site commands in English. I'll try BabbleFish. Thanks again.

Hey Theo, you're right, the translation's really, really interesting. And thanks for the advice.

The first 18 have been shipped, and I am told to expect delivery by the end of next week!

Gabe and Alex,

Please let us know when Alex will be accepting new orders again. I'd be interested in buying an armrest, but missed the first wave…

Thanks much!

Hi, any one in the US already received the arm rest? How is it? Thanks.

I ordered the arm rest by sending Alex my info, but have not received any notification that it was sent. Has anyone that ordered one received it or any indication that it has shipped? I tried sending an email to Alex a couple days ago, but haven't heard anything.

Alex recently emailed me this:

hi gabe!

still a lot of work for me and my dealer i have to admit!.

problem is that the final shipping of the armrests took some time cause this group buy comes along with a lot of work !

lots of people have sent me some wrong credit card info for example which ment that it was impossible to charge some cc's which really sucks as you can probably imagine cause therefore i had to get in touch with every single person again which took some time as well….. .i just collected all of the names and payment infos, printed them out and handed them out to my dealer (this is actually the “only” job i have to do!).

the last info that i have is that by tomorrow the last 10 of all orders will be brought to the postoffice!.

i'll keep u posted!

alex

It's here!

My armrest was finally delivered today and I just installed it in about 15 mins. Very easy! I will take pictures and put up a web page about it later this weekend.

Got mine as well. Some pics posted on Mini2 at the website linked above.
