As we promised almost a year ago JCW has released an full US catalog to dealers with the full range of the new 2005 JCW performance parts and accessories. The catalog includes everything from JCW kits and components to performance accessories and even apparel. You should be able to pick up a copy at your local dealer… if they have any left. Prices aren't in the catalog itself but a pricing sheet should be available at your local MINI parts counter.
FYI – for those curious the JCW Cooper Sound Kit is listed to be released this April (no price given). The JCW strut brace however, isn't mentioned at all.

A new dealership catalog that I don't have! I feel a trip to MINI Peabody coming on ;)

Since my dealer hasn't got it yet… does the catalog include the Gear Change Indicator (Cooper & S)
JCM166???

It lists at £292.58 on his site.

Ian, where would you put more stuff on that car? I think you'll need second car.

+++RB

Thanks, Just called my dealer to get a copy mailed to me.

Just picked up a copy – thanks Scott @ MINI Peabody!

No gear change indicator.

I just spoke to my local mini dealer regarding the older non-S JCW Cooper kit and I gave him the last 7 digits of my vin and he stated that the old JCW is not compatible with my June-built 2004 MC.

I thought the older JCW kit was for all MC's 2004 and earlier so why would it not work with my 2004 MC?

Did June-built 2004's have getrag trannies or something?

How about the JCW Sprot Seats? They keep saying no, but they keep poping up in places.

RB, do you have a URL for this Gear Change Indicator? I couldn't find it at johncooper.co.uk.

Oops, found it! http://www.johncooper.co.uk/JohnCooperSite/category/Motorsport_Other/. Looks like it's a UK thing only :(. I wonder where that thing mounts?

yes – that's only for fitting at the JCW garages.

I never understood about the JCW kit for the MINI Cooper. It seemed to be released a little too late for me to get it on my MINI before delivery (March 2004), but it was supposed to be available around June 2004. Then it seemed to be discintinued before it ever got started. Does anyone out there have this installed on their MINI Cooper (not MCS)? I'd love to find this kit at a reduced price to put on my 2004 MC.

James

To my knowledge the JCW Sport Seats aren't planned for the US due to certifications concerns. The big thing is MINIUSA doesn't want to sell any accessory that actually reduces the number of airbags.

Any word on pre '05 MCS suspension availability?

I know someone who can get the gear change indicator for 240 pounds without any installation at JCW. Give me your email if interested.

Gabe,

Do you know if any june-built MC's had the getrag tranny because I still dont know why my dealer said that according to my vin the older JCW kit is not compatible with my 04 MC.

Robert – the pricing sheet specifically says it is not available for pre-05 cars. Sorry.

John – to my knowledge no pre- 7/05 Coopers (that were for public consumption) had the getrag transmission. I would talk to another dealer perhaps to verify that.

The JCW seats are simply re-upholstered Sparco Milanos, afaik. Those are very easy to source in the US.

“Any word on pre '05 MCS suspension availability?”

If you're not concerned about the warranty, then it appears that it's available. You just need to get the part numbers from JCG, as BMW did not enter any pre-05 VINs into their parts system. Even though US dealers are not, it sounds like JCG is fitting these suspension kits on pre-05 cars at their shop in the UK.

Check this thread:

I really don't understand MINIUSA. I've read the reports about the Works suspension being fitted to pre 05 MCS at JCG and that there is no real issue fitting the setup to older cars. With the existing JCW customer base left out in the breeze and a new MCS on the horizon, it looks like MINIUSA does not care to sell too many suspension kits. I hope this doesn't turn in to a JCW seat/MINI armrest fiasco.

Dammit, no strut brace :(

Edge

But the JCW seat come with heat and lumbar, both options i would like to keep. And they would have the same leather, my seats must match!!

Avitor…

I would love to have that gear change thing in my MINI. I'm old and feeble and need…..just kidding.

It's just a kool toy that I would love to have and it pisses me off that it's not available in the US.

WRC cars have very, very kool numbered gear selectors that I would kill for.

I contacted MINIUSA regarding JCW suspension availability. Right now the status is unclear whether or not the suspension will be made available at all by MINIUSA and I was encouraged to stay in-touch for future updates. In another thread it appears that JCG is fitting the suspension to pre '05s in the UK.

Looks like the best course of action for us is to contact MINIUSA and let 'em know that we want to have the factory approved option for our '02-'04s. Hopefully enough interest will ensure that we get the option.

Anybody get the price list yet, for what is actually available LOL?
