I just dropped my still very new (1150 miles!) MCS off for a number of service items, and I requested that these blue ignition wires be installed. Why not? $40, and my car is Hyper Blue, so it makes sense!

Maybe they will eventually release special JCW wires and those will be red in color.

Will these soon be available in a woodgrain color? Than I would be all over them. :D

You can't complain about them, they are priced no more than most other aftermarket brands. Of course they are not useful, but many people do colored themes in their engine bay, so they are reasonable for some.

Since there are no aftermarket JCW wires I'm guessing you're talking about the ones that are on used on the JCW kit. To my knowledge they are the same as on the stock MC or MCS.

My car is blue, my leather upholstery is blue, my iSkin is blue - why not my plug wires? The question is, are these better or worse - performance wise - than the JCW part?

Huh. That's only $10 per wire. Smoking deal. They should offer those rubber exhaust mounts in blue, too. I'd be all over those.

Not something I would think about buying as an upgrade, but as a replacement I definatly approve.

I bought them yesterday and installed them. Each one is a little longer than the one it replaces, which is a little annoying. Funny thing is, my car feels more responsive (it must be a figment of my imagination). Plus, the wires are tough to see anyway with the engine layout. Don't know that I can recommend, but all and all they are alright.

MINI saw an aftermarket demand for different wires, and thought that they'd try to do it themselves. Nothing wrong with that. I replaced mine with red wires a long time ago. Hey, you gotta have something nice looking when you open the hood to show someone what's under there for the nth time...

does it make it go faster? does it improve handling? improve any aspect of the function of the car? no, however it'd be grossly hypocritical of me to disapprove as i'm totally infatuated with the illuminated door sills which only add complexity and something that can potentially fail.

Ah.. Thank goodness. No wood exterior kit. Never have I been so glad to be wrong (well, except for that time with the colonoscopy!)

I saw these a few days ago on MINIUSA and didn't think much either way. They would look nice on a hyper blue car, if you show off your engine alot. Otherwise, just a dress up item for those who can't stop their MINI habit.

I would be surprised if red, yellow, and other colors are not forthcoming.

I read it as the BOOTS are OEM but the wire is upgraded...similar to aftermarket wires?

I agree if the color is the only deal then I'll be $40 closer to the MTH ;)
