The $50,000 MINI

This just seems wrong on so many different levels:

You’d have to be Loco in the casaba to spend that kind of money on a MINI.

Am I missing something? How do they justify the itemized $1600 for xenon lights when they come in the sport package which was only $1350 on an ’05? Stealerships!

For $50K, I’d buy two MINI’s- a cooper for the street and an S for the track with Dinan upgrades.

“How many have you sold at this price? I hope you realize one sale does not make a market.”

I have had at least 20 over $45,000 and 2 over $50,000 with many others in the lower $40s.

    or loco in the cabasa

Personal opinions on the options aside, did anyone else notice the car already has over 4,200 miles on it and almost 6 months of the warranty/free maintenance period gone?

At the price they’re asking, you can get a new one with no miles and full warranty, built exactly to your specifications.

…after seeing,”that MINI”,I have only two quotes to sum up my feelings about that car. Frist,”…a fool and his money will soon depart…it won’t be long now, fool…” Red Foxx,Sanford and Son. Second,”…oh,HELL…to the NO…” Whitney Houston,Being Bobby Brown.

Welcome to New Jersey…..the more money than brains state.

What exactly is a “brand new – other title” ? I’ve heard of untitled new cars, previously titled used cars, but never a brand new – other totled car!

“So who at the dealership thought this was an eye-catcher?”

The rumor I heard at MOT was the car was originally spec’d/purchased by the dealer’s son.

Also, much like the BRG/W classic Mini that is often on their sales floor, I don’t think actually selling this car is important to them right now as much as the interest it generates – which it seems to be doing quite well – and as a showcase for all of the JCW options available.

And yes, there is a LOT of money in northern New Jersey and the buyers there can be spontaneous in their spending. By having a car like this available to actually see, a buyer in this market area that is placing an order for an MCS (or is in for service) is more likely to tack on some JCW options simply because they were able to see them first.

2002 MCS, JCW + Upgrade, $28,000 2005 MC, SS+, Premium, $21,000 Having an everyday MINI and one just for fun, priceless. Paying $50,000 for a MINI brings you dangerously close to a Lotus.

No, forget I said that, or we’ll be off and running again with the comments.
