The Ultimate MINI For Sale?

Well… certainly one of the ultimate MINIs. Casey Swenson, employee at Promini/BMP and a good friend of MotoringFile is selling the famous Bluethunder MINI Cooper S. The car was originally bought by Promini as a way demonstrate some of their higher-end products. It’s got about everything you can imagine and a total of 245hp. And stickers!

Casey is asking 25k for what has to be one of the most incredible MINIs out there. You can check it out below:

I’ve seen this MONSTER on their web site. http://www.promini.com/project_cars/blue_thunder/

They used to have a QuickTime video of the car blurring through the gears, and it was very impressive. The supercharger whine was extremely pronounced–like a jetliner at take-off.

Can’t believe they’re asking only 25k! (Maybe it’s because they probably beat the snot out of it, being their test mule)…

This is no longer owned by PROMINI, but by myself…I purchased it about a year ago from my boss…the reason for the low price is I have to SELL SOON….my wife will most likely end up in labor this weekend with our first child….we just bought a new house, baby on the way…and my wife will be taking a year off with the baby then back to school for 2 years so we are trying to tighten up on things that we don’t really need….i don’t want to sell the car…but to me right now, starting a family is more important.

Hope you get your price. Over a two month ad campaign in Autoweek, Auto Trader, Craigslist, the SF newspapers and three Ebay auctions, I found the buying public unwilling to pony up for my cherry factory warrantied 2004 JCW MCS, even after lowering the price three times. I finally sold it to someone driving by my house who saw the For Sale sign. You gotta find that special person who wants a tweaked car and also has the bux. Not easy. Best of luck!

The car is awesome. I would buy it in a minute if I had the spare cash.. but I’ll just stick to my R/W MCS for now. Good Luck.

Only 11k miles for a project car?

  • greg

Just curious. What would you guess is the 0-60 time?

  • Derek

I’ve seen and heard this car up close at All MINI Track Days at Texas World Speedway. I also saw very little of it as it went by – more like a blue blur.

This is a suh-weet set up!

I would be interested in this vehicle in a heartbeat if I had the cash for it right now. :) I’m sure you’ll sell. The only negative that I see is it’s a 2002.
