I narrowly avoided buying the Audi A3 to replace my current TT which is going off lease on 10/26. While the A3 had a LOT going for it, I ultimately chose the Mini.

My '06 MCS is on a slow boat from the UK and should be ready for ready for delivery in about a week. I can't wait!!!!

A3 Pros:
* Much more powerful engine
* DSG!
* Audi TT - like dash (I like the TT's dash)
* Really nice full-color NAV with MP3 player and secondary display directly in front of the driver
* Integrated XM radio (have to do a Blitz-safe add-in on the Mini)
* Considering they are discounting them, it came it, comparably equipped, at the same price as my fully-configured Mini.

A3 Cons:
* The clincher was that it's a 5-door and I'm not ready for a station wagon :-)
* While the DSG is HOT and the engine has more HP, the handling was so-so.

Doesn't the Audi A3 have a massive sunroof now? Since I have yet to actually own the car, I can't say much more than my experiences beyond the dealer test drive, but I do remember the huge grin afterwards. Yeah, I guess that's appealing.

Don't forget the appeal of the (positively massive and nothing else like it) dual pane panoramic sun roof!
