Hey,

Wish I was there. Is it possible to take a photo of the drivers from the Belgian and Finnish team?
(Gunther Raus and Markus Palttala).

In the Belgian Mini Challenge, I helped them. And it seems to be great to have a photo of them in Misano

Greetz
Yvonne

Mike - Congrats on the Scavenger Hunt victory, it was another fun thing from the OL. Aaltonen as Instructor - like speaking with God. Yeehaa! You and your wife have plenty of fun, now!

It is awesome!!! My wife and I are here at the event and loving it. Just finished our drivers training course as VIPs sent from MINI USA for winning the scavenger hunt. The Flying Fin was instructing us!

I will send pics when I get a chance.

Yay...they included New Zealand in the race...but got his name wrong - it should be Mike Eady, who is BMW and MINI NZ driving school instructor as well as being NZ Porsche Cup Champ. He's a professional driver having driven in Europe at long distance races at Nurburgring etc. Watch out for this flying Kiwi.
So where is our neighbouring country Australia? Obviously a no-show.

Two members of our local MINI club (DC Metro MINIs) are in attendance at MINI United. They're husband and wife, they both own their own MINIs (he: CB MCC, she: DS MCSC), and the wife is Italian so it was a no brainer (combined visit with the family).

In any case, we all in DCMM are very excited for them! They will be taking lots of pics, so hopefully there will be good stuff for the sharing soon. :)

Right you are, Rob, about Stuart Turner! His book is a great read and hearing him speak after dinner is a treat for all!
Wish I was in Misano, too. Good luck to all the drivers, specially to those from the USA !

Wish I was there. Hope Aaltonen brought his pics from the '60's - he was quite the photog. They shoulda given some credit, a lot, actually, for the '60's successes to Stuart Turner, who took over from Chambers as Team Manager. Like many of the best people at BMC, he came from MG, which is where all the racing and rally cars were prepped. Turner was the Alfred Neubauer of rallying - very organized and thorough, he was the first great Rally Manager, imitated to this day. The Minis had one of the greatest collections of crew and staff ever, the nuts and bolts of success.

          BCNU,
