One question: Any reason for recommending the TomTom GPS instead of the Garmin or Magellans??? I have been looking for a GPS for my MINI and have also considered the TomTom, but wasnÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢t sure how the newcomer would stack up against the old-timers. Any thoughts on this???

JD - I came to my conclusion based on some hands on time with the TomTom and a high-end Magellen unit and reviews. The TomTom had the coolest features and most importantly was the easiest to use and set-up. That said I would recommend giving each some testing at your local electronics store if you can.

Hey Gabe,

Why would I want to get the 2005 Calendar over the 2006 Calendar? Besides the typo great guide man. I've been trying to convince my parents into getting a Mini for years(ever since I first saw Mr. Bean's), and now they are thinking about getting me one!!!

Knauz supports MotoringFile through advertising on the site. Therefore they are our preferred vendor for some specific items within the gift guide.

On a side note, if you'd like to order parts through them but have found a cheaper price elsewhere, just mention the specifics over the phone and they may be able to match that.

Great guide as usual!! Though there aren’t really that many items on there that you could truly ask for as ‘gifts’ – unless perhaps you’re related to the Rockerfellers :)

To clarify, only the PDF in the ZIP doesn’t open for me. The standalone PDF opens just fine.

The PDF does not open here on linux, file tells me that it is: AppleDouble encoded Macintosh file.

Not sure what distro you are using, but it opened fine for me in Ubuntu. Don't use the zip file (all mac zips include that OSX folder), instead just click the pdf link and see what happens. Again, on Ubuntu, it opens right up with evince.

Also the zip contains a weird __MACOSX folder with the PDF in it.
