Unichip uses mil-spec connecters that plug right into the ECU. The only “custom” part of my Unichip application was taking a die grinder to the ALTAÃ¢â€žÂ¢ airbox and fitting a grommet.

Unichip got on the stick. I just installed the Unichip PnP (plug-n-play) yesterday on my Ã¢â‚¬Ëœ04 MCS. Install took about 5 minutes.

What's this then? When I query the Unichip site for my 2005 MCS it says:

This application is currently only available as a custom hard-wired installation.

The Flux system moves beyond plug and play and the limitations of rocker switches on the dash to a blue tooth technology that will allow changes from the cockpit to progress with changes or mods made to the motor. Plus this system does not flash the ECU and leaves no foot print.

What is a FLUX control anyway?

No, not dilithium crystals. This is the thing that requires 1.21 Jigawatts of power. It's a helluva lot of juice to get going, but it really cuts down on your lap times, provided you can hit 88 mph.

Hopefully the Unichip guys will get on the stick this year and graduate the unit for the MINI from a custom hardwired application to plug ‘n’ play. That would be nice.
