It’s not dead yet. We’ve just learned that BMW and JCW are still working to get the MCSa JCW kit to pass US emissions. We were originally told this late last summer and judging by the time it’s taken it must be quite a feat to accomplish. Nevertheless we were assured that the kit will come out in the US late this year. No release date was given.
allow me to register the first official HELL YEAH!
i’m going to roll my own on both cars with pulleys, but that is great that they are offering it! very nice!

jac – i was/am teetering on the line of going with an alta 15% pulley and calling it a day myself, but the thought of this thing actually seeing the light of day and keeping the warranty has given me hope to hold on for another couple of months…
fingers crossed – drew
I’m not sure if I should be happy or not…Maybe the right thing to say is, Thank you Gabe for the update. 🙂
why the mixed vibes mdsbrain? and how is the alta pulley doingin your car? do you think it contributed at all to your engine problems in the past? would love to hear from any mcsa folks who have gone the aftermarket route…
that’s great news for paddle-shifters.
will it be dealer fit or factory option (or both)?
i would imagine dealer first.
>will it be dealer fit or factory option (or both)?
Dealer only from my understanding.
My car is running great and strong. My problems that I have had are due to carelessness and a poorly assembled engine from the factory.
glad to hear your car is running ok – was just curious if any of the mods might have contributed to the problems as you are the only person i know of with a pulley’d mcsa.
happy motoring
I will have a pulley’d MCSa shortly. 🙂
I also have a pulley’d MCSa, 15%. It also has an Alta CAI, Milltek header, Milltek exhaust, and MTH are my engine upgrades. I haven’t had any problems.
Note for MSCa owners: Alta’s larger IC does not fit!!! The engine of the MCSa seems to sit up higher than the manuals and the IC will hit the bonnet.
to all of you pulley’d mcsa peeps: how much different is it?
Drew, the car is so much more responsive then it was stock.
Phuzz, I have a GRS Intercooler on my MCSa with no clearance problems. So if your looking for a IC to fit go GRS 🙂
Check out my MCSa mods on my blog:

Maybe I should re-phrase that. It is the intercooler sprayer and the diverter that hit the bonnet. If you take that off then there are no clearance problems, but one of the reasons I went with the Alta IC was because of their diverter/sprayer design.
MDSBrain, thanks for the link and I definitely like the way the GRS looks form the front of the car, it doesn’t stick up in the bonnet scoop.
How did I miss this story? Too busy at work 🙁 😉
From the time taken so far, GBMINI is going to be out of warranty before it arrives – then I might as well follow MDSBrain into aftermarket!
Yup Ian and you will have the better car to start with because you can learn from my mistakes..lol
i’m so close to going that way as well ian… if it weren’t for this glimmer of hope i’d be driving the two hours from nyc to philly down to eric at helix and get that alta pulley installed this weekend…
trying to stay the course – drew
