WHY IS THE SHIFT KNOB ON THE 07 NOT ROUND.IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. WHEN IS MINI GOING TO FIX THE STORAGE DOOR ABOVE THE GLOVEBOX WORK.I BOUGHT ONE OF THE FIRST 07′S AND THE DOOR DOES NOT WORK.

With many automotive companies poised to introduce next generation diesel engines, and with a fundamental change in the infrastructure and availability of low S diesel fuel in both Canada and the US, why has Mini chosen NOT to address the emissions issue and introduce the Mini D in either country when their clearly is a market opportunity to do so?

There are states other than California that have adopted the California emissions standards. This would cut out some of their largest markets. This means that it would not make sense to spend the money to certify the emissions compliance for a very low volume option that would only be available for roughly half their market.

I am curious about the emissions with the JCW MCSa. I wonder what state they are having trouble with (I suspect California).

It gets me wondering.... has anyone had any problem meeting emisions tests after modification ?

Pity about the JCW MCSa. Guess Dinan gets more of our $$$$.

You may want to re-read that portion of the article and then compare the spy pic with the current MINI. You'll find the two to be essentially identical.

Too bad for the Diesel. I don't understand how VW and Merc are getting them in and MINI can't. Hope the PSA D will give them a chance.

Yes, careless/indifferent dealers with $3000 markups on used MINIs and 0 new cars on the lot with 6-12 months waiting periods are getting old. There's one in WA state like this, I won't call them out - wink wink.

I'm all about sport wagons, an AWD "traveler", bring it on.

Good interview! Hope this is a quarterly thing.

2 and MINIs have NEVER been about hugely powerful engines. They have been about handling. DonÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t get me wrong, the engines have always been more than sufficient, but MINI is a giant killerÃ¢â‚¬Â¦.not a giant
