Maybe they mean a true Showroom Stock class. Drive your car to the track and then maybe change tires, race, and then go back to street tires?

NO mods at all?!

I know that there is talk of a Rent-A-Racecar type program for next year. Basically like in England...

Classes 1&2 have always been there... It is just that no one has built a Race MC They all went with MCS to build their race cars.

It was my understanding that Air Cleaner means stock Airbox but change from paper to say K&N drop in type filter insert.

Interesting. Group 1 and 6 say air cleaner, but the others say cold air box. I was always under the impression that a replacement CAI is allowed, even in group 1 and 6.

Sorry if I'm being obtuse, but now that I'm looking at the race series page, I don't think these classes are new; I'm pretty sure groups 1 and 6, which claim to be the "showroom stock" classes, were part of the original grouping system.

Does "alternative air cleaner" imply an intake like the Alta CAI, or is this strictly the filter insert?

Also, the above-linked page indicates the safety requirements, so a roll bar, 5-point harness, battery cut-off and fire extinguisher are all required for the car, and Nomex gloves, shoes and driving suit are required for the driver.

Summit Point, WV: Coinciding with round 5 of the North American MINI Cooper Championship, Phil Wicks racing officials have announced that a new showroom stock category is being added to the race class groupings effective immediately.

What are the rules surrounding this class? What has to be done to race a car in this class? Rollbar/cage? Window net? Battery cut-off?

Why is a new class being added to the series with only 3 races remaining?
