Anybody else think there's a code in the author's name?
The word "MINI" is in there. So is "DRIVE"

It's fun to be surprised by MINI. First there was the thermos, then the bingo kit, now this.

Posted by Lee L "When I got it yesterday, in jest, my wife said something like “oh, one more thing for you MINI dorks to get all excited about, Why are they advertising to people who already bought the car.” To me that is just part of the whole thing.

I thought it was cool that they had some funny stuff on the black shipping box."That sound just like what my wife said. Guess they just don't understand.

Now if we can just find out what to do with them.

Haven't gotten mine yet, but have seen a friend's. Packaging was excellent, as was the usual snappy copywriting. Well done. And again, I applaud MINI for amking the effort, keeping owners enthused about the brand.

I haven't received mine yet, however I am eagerly awaiting. That said, I will piggy back onto Lee L's comment in which his wife quasi made fun on MINI owners and MINI marketing.

I think it is brilliant for MINI to continue to stay in touch with funny marketing bits or what not with their current owners. For one, how many MINI owners are on their second or third or more MINI's? How many are multiple MINI households. The love we owners have for our MINI's are very hard to duplicate.

My wife drives an Acura and she/we receive virtually no mail or marketing materials from them. Add to that and my wife (nor I for that matter) have much emotion for her car. I get in my car and I smile. I get in her car and I point it and go. No emotion evoked.

Granted, the marketing materials MINI sends doesn't make me smile when I get in my car, but it does remind me how unique an experience we MINI owners have.

So if my car is on the way (just got off the boat in NY yesterday, as a matter of fact), can I expect one of these soon, or will it be a little bit before it shows up? Doesn't bother me either way, I'm just excited to check it out.

Do I get credit for this one?;)

Not that I'm aware of?

For those that haven’t yet received it, a couple of non-spoiler pics on my weblog :)

I'd recommend waiting (if you can) to see it until you get the package yourself. It just makes it more fun.

I got mine! It is very cool. Now if I can just get it to work. When I went to the owners lounge there was nothing to use the neat stuff in the book with. I'm sure the package got to me before the web site was updated. This was a very MINI way to advertise. I like it so far.
