MINImalistic marketing 101. Contact clients by telephone who have expressed interest in a Works kit and enquire as to what colour combination they would like for their “Competition” package. Simple, to the point, and rather effective since my deposit was down the next day. Can’t say for sure but I doubt if any of these cars are still available and, if any are, I don’t think that they will last very long at the dealer’s. The last of the Supercharged MINI Cooper ‘S’ with all of the JCW go fast parts at a very attractive price. Now it is all about delivery. Come on MINI, I am waiting by the phone!

Congratulations my Cnadian Neighbors. MINI didn’t leave you all out of the fun after all. I’m really happy for you all. Anyone think of having a MINI USA Vs. MINI CA shootout car show??? While we all drive the same type of car tyou all have had editions we haven’t and vice versa. It would be really interesting to see and meet some of our Northern neighbors.

It’s a screaming deal for that package. With only 64 cars being offered, I’m not surprised that Mini.ca had no mention of this (disappointed, but not surprised). They will disappear fast! I’ll be waiting for the “wagon’ version so that I can haul around extra bangers, mash and kraut!

"faster, Tobias" opted for the super-clean sunroofless version, Frank, so don't worry too much. It's just pansies like me who love sunroofs who get a CP car with one :) I'm #9!

And Humourl3ss, it is a shame that there was not more marketing. I would have loved to have been able to spec one myself, but I'm pretty sure that most of these cars were specced out by dealerships with no client input :(

Looking at it closer, you don't get cruise control...what's up with that???

Unlike the JCW GP, you can get Xenons and Sunroof on the Canuck version.

Not very high performance IMHO...

With the Canadian version at least you get a back seat!

Is the MotoringFile logo on the tach a subtle embelishment by Gabe or (I hope) a sweet licencing deal to MINI Canada? Does this mean MF HQ will be relocating to a tax haven in the Virgin Islands?

I already mentioned this on MINI2, but I figure the deceased mare needs a good whipping anyway.

People have already taken delivery of this car, yet it receives not the barest of mentions on the mini.ca website. No link on the main page, no ability to build and price one, nothing (unless it's hidden somewhere that's not obvious).

Perhaps less time should be spent on the Targa and more on the marketing?

I really like it. The inclusion of the JCW wheel from the factory is cool, as is the subtle numbering (harkens back to the 1/500 Canadian Launch Editions back in 2002).

It's also nice to see a special edition with not only a limited run, but also some flexibility in the options by allowing some limited choices of exterior colors and interior.

All in all, nicely done.
