Ditch the cheap center plastic, NOW - better be a wood-look option, boys, somethings gotta get that cheezy antique Fiat X19 look outta there sharpish. I'm a bit disturbed by the launch language - "muscular" and "strong" would be excellent adjectives for a brand without an....identity, but looking for one; the MINI already has a HUGE rep, and its real forte is all about cat-quickness in corners, not laying...rubber at the drop of a green. It's to allow the rain water a direct path onto the spark plug wires, thus bringing back a much missed feature of the classic Mini. For those who never had the joy of owning one, the radiator and fan were mounted to the side, drawing air through the wheel well, leaving the distributor and spark plug wires in full view of rain and spray behind the grille. For a car that had to deal with English weather you'd think they'd have known better. We had ours die on the M6 one time in pouring rain. A can of WD40 was the most important Mini accessory back then! All it needs now is a big hook coming down from the inside of the bonnet to spike you in the back of the head after you've been around the engine bay with the WD40...</p> I’ve also figured out what the mail slot is for on the new model.
