R56 JCW Accessories Officially Revealed

The R56 JCW Aero Kit, spoiler, brakes, wheels and interior accessories are now on MINI.com

Most of this should be very familiar to regular MotoringFile readers who had a sneak peak of the R56 JCW Accessories earlier this month.

You can expect most of these accessories (including the newly branded “JCW” aero kit) to be available in spring of 2007.

Does this remind anyone else of the Ociari kit?

    looks infinitly better than stock!

As I was looking through the MINI/JCW site I saw the JCW seats for the ’07 build MINIs will have side airbags. Does this mean they will be available in the US? And will they be retrofitable to my ’06 MINI? And, of course, how much will they be?

  • http://www.gbmini.net Ian C.

Side airbags have been available for a while – the latest restriction to USA import is the requirement for seat sensing …

  • http://dcmini.blogspot.com/ DanC

the rear apron looks very different. cool

  • hoy

awesome. the sport seats look great and the gear shift indicator is pretty sweet too. all the carbon fiber bits def look the part…the only thing i’m not sure about is the wing, looks cool in side view, not sure about other views. are we gonna get all these options in the US market? if so, this is pretty much what my next ride will look like :)

  • RudyT

The Aero Kit does wonders with the looks of the car. Amazing how a little bit of trim change makes the R56 look faster, agressive. It looks like it was bred to race.

  • brad

definitely like it better than stock. i could do without the spoiler.

  • http://www.hubertus.net/mymini/ Philip

The seats and the gear shift indicator look both very sweet!!

  • http://www.detailingconcepts.com matt

why add cf and draw attention to the fake hood scoop unless you’re planning on doing something with it?

  • Kyle

Those holes in the rear bumper look quite unnecessary. Better than stock, yes. The sport seats look quite nice. And I think the spoiler is an improvement over stock, as well. I don’t like the new spoiler on the Cooper S, I think it looks too boxy.

  • fdavid

I like it a lot. I will wait until we move to Barcelona to get this car…nopefully it will be available in Jet Black in a couple of years. : )

  • O(=^=)OCapn

I think that it is nice to confirm what we already know of the manufacture date.

“select date of manufacture: before 11/06 or after 11/06″

  • Giancarlo

drool…ohh my ohh my oh my……i need a drink, cheers. ;)

  • http://www.plusminus.com.au Russell

I’m just glad you can get them in Cooper + Cooper S…. fancy.

  • j

    …..and JCW tuning kit….. maybe….. soon?

  • gnarleyOmarley

drooling over the seats. They look like a mixture of the JCW sparcos and recaros. More aggressive like the sparcos w/the harness holes, but also looks refined like the recaros and has airbags. Now, just about that sensor…

The brakes look cross drilled and slotted, sweet.

DB & Gabe, What are the chances that if we’re #5 on our local order list (CA) for an ’07 that we’ll be able to order with the new Aero Kit? That is a must and we’ll retrofit if we have to, but I’d much rather have it done while it’s being built. We really like the wing too. Wing’s currently $568 for the ’06. Aero kit is $1250 for ’06. I’m guessing those’ll stay similar. Anyone guess what the seat’ll go for? What does dealer charge to retrofit an Aero kit?

Thanks so much for this posting. Really excited at how good this kit looks.

    looks infinitly better than stock!

That’s how I felt. Until I saw the rear… :( I’ll stop being negative about the R56 for now. I’ll wait for the chance of a test drive over at my local dealer, and see if after a few 100.000 km in my Checkmate I still feel the same way. If so, that’ll mean no R56 as my next company car. Shame.

I have chills runing down my spine

    Very nice looking motor

  • FrankInMiami

After going carefully over these pics, I have decided that my next MCS will have the JCW package from factory and the aerokit. The car looks sooo much better with it.

I am not a big fan of the R56 stock MCS from and rear bumpers. Unless a “mid-life” cycle refreshing addresses that (and the plasticky center console), I think this time around springing for the aerokit will be well worth it.

While I like the aerokit in the R53 generation, to me it was never a must have. But in the R56 the aerokit really transforms the car.

Here, I am hoping that by ’09-’10 MINI will offer AWD and a DSG transmission with the JCW package.

  • blingmc

Would be perfect except for the indentations that house the rear fog lights. Surpasses the old aero kit by far. Looks much more cohesive to the lines of the car.

  • codemunkee

    god, that car is awesome!!!

  • AlexT

The aero kit looks great, but is it really an effective aero kit or just good for looks? I’d love to see MINI publish drag and downforce numbers for both the aero and non-aero cars, but they probably won’t if it makes no difference or the aero performs worse. Anyone know if these numbers are available for the R53 or R56?

  • Zack

    again, too tuner’ish.

they’ve killed all the classic/timeless styling lines. it now looks like a teenager slapped on a big ugly body kit onto his MINI.

    i’m glad i have my ’06 JCW.

  • James

If those seats are sold in the U.S., I’m sold on the next generation Mini.
