again, too tuner'ish.

they've killed all the classic/timeless styling lines. it now looks like a teenager slapped on a big ugly body kit onto his MINI.

i'm glad i have my '06 JCW.

The aero kit looks great, but is it really an effective aero kit or just good for looks? I’d love to see MINI publish drag and downforce numbers for both the aero and non-aero cars, but they probably won’t if it makes no difference or the aero performs worse. Anyone know if these numbers are available for the R53 or R56?

Would be perfect except for the indentations that house the rear fog lights. Surpasses the old aero kit by far. Looks much more cohesive to the lines of the car.

After going carefully over these pics, I have decided that my next MCS will have the JCW package from factory and the aerokit. The car looks sooo much better with it.

I am not a big fan of the R56 stock MCS from and rear bumpers. Unless a "mid-life" cycle refreshing addresses that (and the plasticky center console), I think this time around springing for the aerokit will be well worth it.

While I like the aerokit in the R53 generation, to me it was never a must have. But in the R56 the aerokit really transforms the car.

Here, I am hoping that by '09-'10 MINI will offer AWD and a DSG transmission with the JCW package.

looks infinitly better than stock!

That's how I felt. Until I saw the rear... :( I'll stop being negative about the R56 for now. I'll wait for the chance of a test drive over at my local dealer, and see if after a few 100.000 km in my Checkmate I still feel the same way. If so, that'll mean no R56 as my next company car. Shame.

DB & Gabe, What are the chances that if we're #5 on our local order list (CA) for an '07 that we'll be able to order with the new Aero Kit? That is a must and we'll retrofit if we have to, but I'd much rather have it done while it's being built. We really like the wing too. Wing's currently $568 for the '06. Aero kit is $1250 for '06. I'm guessing those'll stay similar. Anyone guess what the seat'll go for? What does dealer charge to retrofit an Aero kit?

drooling over the seats. They look like a mixture of the JCW sparcos and recaros. More aggressive like the sparcos w/the harness holes, but also looks refined like the recaros and has airbags. Now, just about that sensor...

The brakes look cross drilled and slotted, sweet.

Those holes in the rear bumper look quite unnecessary. Better than stock, yes. The sport seats look quite nice. And I think the spoiler is an improvement over stock, as well. I don’t like the new spoiler on the Cooper S, I think it looks too boxy.

why add cf and draw attention to the fake hood scoop unless you’re planning on doing something with it?
