Nice work! What gear are you in by the time you're at the end of the run? It sounded like 3rd? Or was it 4th.. It also sounds like it was bouncing off the limiter at one point - that's got to be good for a couple tenths' improvement - no?

I understand your question completely Enzo. I went to my first ever dragstrip event at Bandimere Speedway outside of Denver Colorado a couple of years ago. Before going, I was thinking the same thing, "what is so big about seeing cars blast down a straightway?". I wasn't the only one in the group thinking the same thing.

I (we) get there, and after a couple of races, I (we) became MESMERIZED by the roar and rumble of engines, and the sense and feel of mechanized auto POWER...being there in person is a totally a different experience than watching it on TV or video. The event held different races from stock cars to dragsters, to the final event... JET cars....OMG. I had special VIP access to seats near the pits and starting area for the JET cars races. Lets just say my heart felt like it blasted through my back.

All this to say...(note to self), I would love to see in person the M600 launch down a dragstrip some time in the future.

No offense taken ever, Enzo! Absolutely, we all get excited about different things, for sure. I'll be the first to say watching a car go straight is like hangin' out next to the freeway. ...and sometimes the dragstrip can be like that!

But what's really exciting for me is the support we get from ALL of you. All opinions are appreciated!

I want to personally invite anyone to come to the races. Nothing like bad food and race gas to get your blood flowin.' Thanks again to everyone!!

Congrats, Fireball Tim. Job well done!

OK, now when do we see 9 seconds? Just kidding.

That is one stout little motor. I can't believe that the tranny could take 600hp, that is amazing.

Stock heads also wasn't it?

Again. Well done!!!

Enzo, as you say each to their own. However, there is something strangely compelling about the drag strip - the ability to see the cars up close, to communicate with the drivers and their crew about the cars, the atmosphere, always charged and yet a sense of comradery between crews; and then there's the racing: as you say grand engineering feats but also so many cars, such enthusiasm and a huge number of teams pushing to reach new limits - plus the kids love it: spotting their favourite car, looking at the decals cheering for their favourite colour to win...It is however a sport that doesn't look great on tv - you have to be there!

By the way congrats to the Fireballed team. May your racing success continue.

Fireball Tim, i was not trying to put you or any other dragster team down by any means, I know like a said that it is a gread engineering feat, and that it takes big kahunas to drive those types of cars at that speed.

What i was referring to, is spectator wise, i really find nothing exciting about watching a car go straight for a whole ten seconds, just like i find nothing exciting about a car going around a single circle.

To each their own, congratulations on the ten second run.

Interesting observation...

Yea, it seems it would be simple to just drive straight, ... but at 600hp, the torque can rip you right off the track and into the wall. And that, folks, isn't fun at all. And when Hubie got off the track, an experienced driver, and his hands we're shaking with adrenaline, you KNOW that car was smokin.' Bottom line is that all the car wants to do is turn on the Drag Strip. It's all you can do from keeping it to do that. And Hubie is certainly better than me...

And since the car was built for the dragstrip, it turns great right onto the track. 'Course we have turned it into the trailer, too, so that's a plus.

But come on down and see how exciting it CAN be!

And yes, stock block is right on. And,... stock tranny.

I don't mean to be the weazel of the group here, but can that car turn? Just curious.

It's just that i have never been able to understand why people get excited about ten to 12 second races. Yeah, it's an engineering feat, but exciting? i don't know about that.

What about the driver? Does he feel like he's the best driver in the world because he was able to keep it in a straight line for a good ten and a half seconds?

Awesome run Fireball!!

I do have a question though.

Why does the video say stock motor at the begining?
Last I heard there were a few mods..
Unless it just means stock block? As in it's not some v-8 stuffed in there..
