However, there is something strangely compelling about the drag strip - the ability to see the cars up close, to communicate with the drivers and their crew about the cars, the atmosphere, always charged and yet a sense of comradery between crews; and then there's the racing: as you say grand engineering feats but also so many cars, such enthusiasm and a huge number of teams pushing to reach new limits - plus the kids love it: spotting their favourite car, looking at the decals cheering for their favourite colour to win...It is however a sport that doesn't look great on tv - you have to be there!</p> <p>By the way congrats to the Fireballed team.
