I have an '07 S ordered, and was told by the dealer that heated mirrors and washer jets must be standard on the S since they are listed on their order with "No charge" next to them. Would this be washer jets on the mirrors or headlights?

I’ve tried to find the answer, and I know that the 07 Mini’s hardtops with be the new model, any ideas when Mini will be coming out with the new model in a convertable version, cause I’m assuming its the same body style as the current version?

Some have heard this Aero Kit is the same as the JCW kit. OThers have heard it’s a new, seperate one (as yet unseen). Does anyone here (Gabe?) have more information on it, or maybe a friendly neighborhood dealer they can ask?

It is different - as mentioned above in the story.

My understanding was there was the “regular” suspension and the “sports” suspension on the S, and that there was no “Sports Plus.” Accurate?

Yes - There was a typo on the official options sheet.

Hi!

In the US, there is a package called "Hyper Sport" that comes with the Aero Kit and Sport Suspension (plus?).

Some have heard this Aero Kit is the same as the JCW kit. OThers have heard it's a new, seperate one (as yet unseen). Does anyone here (Gabe?) have more information on it, or maybe a friendly neighborhood dealer they can ask?

Hyper-Sport (ZHS) $1,400 (3/1/07): Aero kit, Sport suspension plus

ala Carte: Aerodynamic Kit (3/1/07) $1300/ZHS

The other question, of course, is, if the S already has the upgraded "Sports Suspension", why spend the addtional $100 on the package when all you're going to get is the Aero Kit?

My understanding was there was the "regular" suspension and the "sports" suspension on the S, and that there was no "Sports Plus." Accurate?

On the U.S. "2007 Ordering Guide Distribution" PDF, in the packages list, the Hyper Sport package lists parts 7AR as the Aero Kit and 226 as "sport suspension plus". However, if one goes to the ala carte parts list, the Aero Kit retains its name and number, and part 226 is simply called "sports suspension."

Any light anyone can shed on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
JMelrose

Sorry for multiple posts of this. I'm not sure which comments are being read anymore...

Does this mean there is no standard radio/cd and to have one you must by an upgrade?
Why is there a chrono pack for convertables and not the standard s?
sad in california

How come the pricing from BMW shows a JCW package for the Cooper S Vert only and not the hardtop?

Because the JCW package for the R52 is the same one that has been sold at dealers and from the factory for a few years. The JCW kit for the "new" MINI (the R56) will debut next fall.

DOH!!! no color lines before March production!!! Lame.. I really wanted the two-tone blue black seats with the blue color line. I guess one could always bolt on the color line later. I wouldn't imagine it being too much to do that.

As always guys, thank you.

A couple of questions: Has anyone tried to compare the sports suspension head-to-head with the stock? Are those upcoming JCW seats priced and have folks seen or tried these in a previous gen mini? Torn between those seats (assuming only available in black leather? price??) and the Redwood Red Lounge Leather (photos look maroon, not baseball orange-that's a real concern if we won't see these until we receive an ordered car). We're looking forward to the JCW Aero kit and hope we can do that on a first round delivery.

A couple of questions: Has anyone tried to compare the sports suspension head-to-head with the stock?

Hm... just a thought. If the 2002-2006 were so expensive to build, why is this care more expensive?

Will the LSD be available on an automatic-equipped MCS this time? I hope the Hyper Sport does away with the stock rear MCS bumper. Visually, I think it's the only blemish with the new redesign.
