A team of judges at the 22nd Annual International Automobile Festival has named the 2007 MINI Cooper as the most beautiful of the world’s “city and compact cars”. Not bad for a car that isn’t even technically on the market yet.

With the inclusion of the EOS and Q7, it’s obvious the voters had some relation to VW, because why on earth would they be included in this list…the kings of overhang…
Interesting to look at the runner up in the city car category. Looks veeeery familiar…those sneaky Korean designers.

The real MINI won, howzabout that? The second place car in that segment was the Daihatsu Trevis, which currently holds the record for Dubious Classic Mini Knock-offs, Half-Assed Division, Japanese Sector. I think it has a high rating in Idiotic Names For Rip-offs Of Better Designs, as well, and there’s a rumor it will be changed to the Daihatsu Scuzzball if it makes it over to the States, because “Trevis” is too hard to say without laughing. Think if it had won – whiskey tango foxtrot? – over.

Hmmm, I think the original “Stephenson” R50 is a nicer design than the R56, IMHO.

My ‘03 S (silver, black stripes and r90 wheels) looks better, more so as time passes by. I have decided to keep it after I saw the 2007 version.

I still prefer my R50 Stephenson design over the R56 committee design in terms of beauty. It is , by far in my opinion, the most attractive.

It’s funny how most of the cars on that page all look the same, as if they were designed using the same aerodynamic/fuel efficiency computer software.
The next time you are in a big parking lot notice how most of the cars there all look alike, except for your MINI!
