I'm lovin my MCSC Sidewalk in Astro Black

Really love the Malt Brown leather & the wheels. In Aus, it even comes with Sat Nav as std

It's a sexy lil beast and a hoot to drive!

I bought the Sidewalk in Pepper White and after 6 weeks, love it even more. Not sure if I had the chance, I would have "sidewalk" as the name, but the color combo of the pepper white and the interior is a winning one. Even my girlfriends have commented on the wheels, so they must be eye catching as well!

Always thought silver paint on a car was akin to primer grey w/a clearcoat. Maybe the name sidewalk is supposed to take us back to the days when we pedaled cute kiddie cars. Not really enspiring name for a pocket sports car.

The piping and seat bottoms give the interior the look of the classic MINI of earlier times. Wish it came in something other than a ragtop.

We've had several articles detailing the production plans for the convertible but the short answer is that the engines will not be changing until the new body style arrives. Far too much involved in making the new, wider engine fit in the old chasis.

Ok so I understand that the body design of the convertibles is not changing until the 09 model year, but what about the engines? Will the 07 and 08 convertibles have the supercharger or the turbo? I can't seem to find any information on this. As well, will it not be costly to work with two different body styles (R53 and R56) and two different interiors at the factory? Why not change the convertible now?

"Heritage" is important to MINI, and this special edition reflects it. Judging the auto before seeing it in the flesh is a mistake. I hope the Sparkling Silver is a variation of silver and not sandstone will only be revealed in Feb. The malt brown leather appears to be stunning on the seats and is without peer in its class. MINI and BMW have achieved a level of success that has left Audi and Mercedes as second class wannabees. Their sales success is proof enough, but add a their resale value and you have the final proof.

That release is very poorly written â€" like it was translated from Japanese, or written by someone for whom English is not their first language.

As for the name of the vehicle, heritage aside, "Sidewalk" is a VERY unflattering name for any car, let alone one that seeks to impart a sporting image. Though the exterior color does resemble concrete.

A bit hyperbolic for a press release from MINI, but isn't belles-letters the 'in' style nowadays? 'Specially considering obfuscation is the better part of valor for the elite flacks. Medium brown and dark grey don't do a thing for me, even when implied there's a tasty fountain drink associated with....leather. Hmmm...knew girl like that that in high-school, pretty tasty, too, (but that's another tale), and that's about the last time a Mini and a sidewalk were connected in the same meaningful sentence for me - somehow my shotgun rider suddenly starts yelling, "Stop @#%&# driving on the @#%&# sidewalk!" or words to that effect, puzzling to me at first, as none of the pedestrians we'd been sharing it with that day had a thing to say. Cutie-pie wheels, tho, I'll give it that.

I really like the color of the seats, but not with that paint. I think they would look very cool in my dark silver MCSc, or in a black one - without the off whilte piping. Interesting packaging though - I can't see how the nomenclature will be all that popular over here. What is sidewalk supposed to signify?

Is it my imagination, or do the convertibles seem to get the better looking wheels?

I agree, Dustin, the brown leather and grey just don't complement each other. I thought the name meant that it was so small that it could be driven on the Sidewalk!
