MINI Clubman Debut Set, New Colors Coming

MINI will publicly debut the MINI Clubman at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September 2007. Preliminary photos and information should arrive in the latter half of the summer and final technical specs shortly afterwards. In the US, MINI is expected to debut the Clubman at the Detroit Auto Show in early January of 2008.

Sales of the Clubman are scheduled to start in November for Europe and in the Winter of 2008 for the US.

And while you can expect to see lots of Hot Chocolate Clubmans in the press pics (the featured color for the R55), expect MINI to show off at least one other R55 exlusive color. Currently under consideration are Java Grey (metallic) and Sand Glow (metallic). Although keep in mind the only color we’ve confirmed at this time is Hot Chocolate.

We’re told nothing has been finalized yet but we should hear more about exterior and interior colors in the coming months.

…..and……the envelope please. Yes, we have a winner!!!! In the category of “How many names can you come up with for ’silver’ and ‘brown’”; the winner is BMW!!! Yes, congratulations!!!!! Oh, wait……evidently they are not here today to accept the prize. The red carpet leading in was a bit to bright for them.

Java Grey = silver Sand Glow = weimaraner

Yawn The brown might be nice though. And what about a nonmetallic BRG?

brad Jan 23rd, 2007 Link

hmm, maybe microsoft was right…brown is the new black or white or silver.

if it looks as cool as the sweet old chevy nova brown colors, i think it will be a bewty.

i want to see a BMW colorado orange MINI with a black roof…sorta like the old alpina racing colors.

brad.

Two shades of brown that are model specific? A nice Nonmetalic BRG would be nice. Unfortunately, BMW never has listened to the masses when it comes to color choice. That Flat silver looked great that they had on one of their(BMW)concept cars.

Is it just me or does it seem based on the names that there will be 3 different types of BROWN on the R55? Hot Chocolate (medium dark brown), Java Grey (grayish coffee brown) and Sand glow (light gold brown).

All these shades of brown! Is this so that the car can be seen in places with a lot of snow? Is this all being done for Gabe? I wonder?

Great. ANOTHER grey. Yawn.

. . . just testing a theory here: Would ANYONE object to the new Clubman being offered in Chili Red?

WTF is MINI/BMW thinking. First a horrible new car, then plans for ANOTHER Fugly car called the clubman. Oh, and let’s top it off with some of the worst colors EVER! Now I can see my ‘05 as a collectors item, every MINI after the ‘06 is going to SUCK!!!

As long as MINI continues to bring out such frakking BORING colored MINI’s, I’m keeping my CR/W Cooper. Yeesh!

Just what this world needs–more blah.

Silver! Just spray bare metal with clear and save the metalic charges.

Cool, Clubman in September – I can’t wait to see final pics! With the recent MINI color announcements though, I’m left wondering if the B in BMW stands for BORING.

Is BMW trying to sell to the Buick crowd? The browns and silvers belong on big land barges not on cars like the MINI.

Chester is obviously disgrunted and works for Volkswagen. Never let a 12 year old on a computer without parent supervision!!!

If they have to have a grey, what about the old English standby, Flannel Gray – or if a Brown, FUSION Brown, that’d wake everyone up!

Gutentag Farbe MINI R55. I want to be the first to purchase THE CLUBMAN and drive around Europe for a month and have shipped to U.S. Can you help me?
