ReplyHere’s one that US MINI fans have been waiting for: the official MINI Specifications PDF with just about every number on the US spec R56 you can imagine. While we’ve seen most of these numbers before with the UK specifications PDF, it’s always interesting to see how they translate to the US market cars. You can download below:
[ 2007 MINI USA Technical Specifications ] Official MINI PDF
And for those that just can’t get enough number, here’s the official specification PDF for the 2005 model year (and 2006 since there were no significant changes).

Funny, the new Cooper w/ manual gearbox is listed as 22 lbs HEAVIER than the outgoing model (2546 vs 2524 on my 06 registration)….thought it was supposed to be that much LIGHTER…..

The new car has more standard so the very base config is heavier. However if both cars are optioned equally supposedly the R56 is lighter. You’ll see this in the Euro specifications PDF.
BTW the base R56 Cooper S is 11lbs lighter than the base R53 Cooper S.
hey gabe any specs for the 2006 factory jcw cars?
Exact same as the 2005 specs with more power, torque, and 11.6″ brakes.
ReplyAm I correct that “Unladen Weight” reflects the weight of the car with all fluids (including fuel) topped-up, but without occupants (including driver) and luggage?

ReplyDon’t forget that the R56 Cooper has a 6 Speed manual trans. and the R50 has a 5 Speed. Surely there should be a weight difference.
Reply[...] We’ve seen R56 specifications on both sides of the Atlantic but one thing we haven’t seen yet is the official Cooper S power graph. Until now. Check out the scan of the official MINI document that just showed up in our inbox. [...]
