Don’t forget that the R56 Cooper has a 6 Speed manual trans. and the R50 has a 5 Speed. Surely there should be a weight difference.

Am I correct that "Unladen Weight" reflects the weight of the car with all fluids (including fuel) topped-up, but without occupants (including driver) and luggage?

Funny, the new Cooper w/ manual gearbox is listed as 22 lbs HEAVIER than the outgoing model (2546 vs 2524 on my 06 registration)ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â¦.thought it was supposed to be that much LIGHTERÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â¦..

The new car has more standard so the very base config is heavier. However if both cars are optioned equally supposedly the R56 is lighter. You'll see this in the Euro specifications PDF.

BTW the base R56 Cooper S is 11lbs lighter than the base R53 Cooper S.

hey gabe any specs for the 2006 factory jcw cars?

Exact same as the 2005 specs with more power, torque, and 11.6" brakes.
