The MK2's are more appealing to the automotive masses, more mature in demenanor and more "BMW" in feel all around. I've driven '03 and '06 Mini Coopers, more than a few times. And they were fun enough, to be sure, but lacking somewhat. Unfazed, and on a leap of faith (and high resale value, should I hate it), I ordered an '07. I picked up my '07 Cooper today. In the walkthrough at the dealer and in the short drive home, it became clear to me that this '07 is better than the previous car. In.Every.Way.
