Great milestone, but kind of fugly.
ReplyHere are a few more pics and sketches of the one millionth MINI that rolled off the Oxford assembly line earlier this week. But before you head down to the local MINI dealer wanting almond green wheels, remember that this is simply a one-off to celebrate this specific achievement

I’m liking the factory blacked out lights. I’m a bit surprised that it’s not already an option.
ReplyI like the lights and seats and paint, but I’d pass on the green wheels. Otherwise very nice. Actually, I like the green in the design sketches better than the paint actually on the car. More olive.
ReplySo it seems that MINI can produce a nice solid green paint color.
Replythe blacked head lights are sweet, the grafic on the bonet and the roof. love it. the black head lights should become an option.
ReplyThis is an awesome looking MINI although the green should be the original flat BRG. This package should be an option. I love the PW and BRG combo.
ReplyCould they make the serrif on the 1 any longer? Or does the entire world cross they’re sevens?
ReplyWonder who got 1 million and one? You can see the vert right behind in the group shot.
and gmini? Yes, the entire rest of the world crosses their 7.
ReplyVery nice….and interesting choice on Almond Green. Almost as classic on a Mini/MINI as Chili Red
ReplyThe car was ordered by the BMW Group and will go to their own museum I gather in Germany. There is anothe rmuseum in Gaydon, UK were fresh samples of the first ever 2001 R50 MINI, the original 1959 Issigonis Morris Mini and the very last Rover Classic that rolled off the line in October 2000.
ReplyI hate that color combo in theory, but in actuality it looks great! That’s the second best looking r56 I’ve seen (1st is a cr/b with the JCW aero).

ReplyAnyone know how far ahead of the “original” schedule this came? Considering they’re already building more than twice a year the plan.
ReplyThe “stance” and morphed shape in the sketches is very nice – wishing more of that sense was carried over in the real deal.
ReplyI don’t like the black headlights – really makes them look like a hole.
ReplyI love the hood, roof, and side graphics. With a few slight modifications, removal of the words “1 million” and color keying to other color combinations, I’d love to have this graphic on my car.
ReplyMinus the graphics this is an inverted BRG with white roof/wheels Mini. I wonder how this inverted treatment would look for other color combinations. Maybe an option Mini should consider.
Reply[...] of years. For one, the headlihts appear to have a black backing similar to the ones found in the Millionth MINI promotional car that debuted earlier this spring. Secondly the car seems to sit a little lower than the stock MCS – [...]
