It looks like the revised 2007 MINI is proving as popular as it’s predecessor. Here’s a quote from Jim McDowell in this week’s Autoweek:

>Buyers are waiting at least six weeks for delivery of Mini’s second-generation Cooper and Cooper S, Jim McDowell, head of Mini USA, said.

>Many buyers waited until the cars went on sale Feb. 17 before deciding whether to buy, McDowell said, because they wanted to see the differences in person. About 2,000 customer-ordered cars will be delivered this month, he said. McDowell was interviewed at the New York auto show.

>Despite the later arrival of the new Coopers, McDowell predicted that Mini sales in the United States will rise this year from last year’s 39,171 units.
