MINI Clubsport has what looks like one of the very first 2007 Cooper S race cars we at MF have seen prepped and ready to go for the 2007 season. Undoubtedly we’ll be seeing many more R56 race cars in the months ahead (including official R56 MINI Challenge cars for 2008) but until then this is a rare treat:

Looks like they ripped Waylen’s accent color off.
Actually I think it’s an ode to the <a href="http://www.astonmartinracing.com/content/allsites/images/LeMans2_6188e5c4-371f-4bd3-9c00-0b00d6edd300.jpg" rel="nofollow">Aston factory race program</a>.
Let me correct my meaning then: “Looks like they ripped Waylen’s accent color off. ;)”. 😛
why 2 race seats with belts, rally?
This is Kape’s new racer. He is well known in the German New MINI scene. He either owns or works for a BMW/MINI dealership in Kaiserslautern called Autohaus Schäfer and he is very frequently at the Ring.
The car is build for public roads and complies to German TÃœV rules, so this is not a pure race car. One the website they talk about the car having 220 PS and 300 NM. Good bye JCW ….
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Thanks Philip!
Nice, minimally intrusive preparation on that interior. Don’t see Lime OZ’s everyday!
What for that Honkin’ shifter?! Shades of rallying or BAJA! Do you suppose it leads to a stock tranny and gearbox?
Did they have to use that color? Yeech! The pedals are awesome! Does anyone know where those come from?
I’m sure it’s one of the quickest Mini’s around but the green grill trims not working for me.
Very nice settup. Should be interesting to see more information on this.
There will be more information about the car appearing in german press during the next weeks.
The tranny seems to be standard. The clubsport features can usually be purchased as individual components (incl. assembly …) and there was a radical combination of short shifter and extended lever offered for the R53/R50.

(all in german I’m afraid)
