Incredible as always Gabe!

Let us know asap when the date for the 2009 MU UK Event will be. I'll need some advanced notice to get the time off! How could I pass up two of the best things ever- England and MINIs?!?

Thank you again!

See you again in 2009!

Just poking a little fun at you Gabe, honestly though you have the contacts that I rely on to know whats going on in the minds of Mini. Is the picture from United of the JCW kit the car John Cooper drove to the event?

One other question Gabe, what do you know/can tell about the new JCW exhaust…how will it sound in comparison to the R53 JCW exhaust, is the new one a catback, etc???

I've not driven the car - I've simply talked with someone who has put on several thousand kilometers on it. He spoke very highly of the sound - as if I would be very pleased with mine. I guess I'll find out soon enough. In terms of sound, it'll have a tough act to follow based on my time with the GP last year. Even my 2005 MCS with the Supersprint exhaust will be hard to top.

BTW, here's a pic of the new system (from MINI United).

Good to be an insider isn’t it Gabe ;>

Some folks at dealers are very well informed and some aren't. What we try to do here on MotoringFile is bridge the gap for the folks that don't know :)

Good to be an insider isn't it Gabe ;>

I finally bit the bullet and gave my dealer to purchase the kit. My R56 is in production this week, all I can say is that I am going to really enjoy the next several months. Went way overboard on my order but then again this is my toy that will allow me to wait out my eventual factory JCW lol.

Gabe, you said in the interview with Mike Cooper that you have you JCW engine kit on order, is that right?? If so, how have you been able to do that, as my local dealership hasn’t even heard any news on the kit.

They should be getting the bulletin from MINI USA shortly.

I must say, this was the best series of 'casts you three have done yet, and full of interesting tidbits and fascinating people - very well done to all of you, and thanks for sharing some of the fun of MU with the unlucky. The only drawback - no more MU bits, an hardest of all - how are you gonna top this? - can't wait to find out!

First of all thanks guys for sharing your experiences with us all. Hope this event went very well for MiniUSA so they might consider stepping up next time around again, would love to see a detailed bit of info from them around the same time as the event announcing. This would give more owners yet the chance to attend the event. I have already blocked out a couple weeks worth of vacation in '09 so my wife and myself can attend.

This Mini United event just like the events of the Mini Clubs and Mini USA continue to prove to me that the community continues to grow and thrive.

What an absolute pleasure it was to meet all of you. Your article does a superb job of summing up what the event was all about. Friends. Festival. Challenge. I can quite agree that this is a must for all mini owners at least once in their lifetime. Having said that though, I'll be back for the next one.

Thanks again.

Seriously, thanks for all your great reporting...so glad you had a blast. I did catch that little hint about the '09 MU location...I think I might engage in a little advance planning!!

Sounds like an awesome event. Thanks for doing such a splendid job sharing the sights and sounds. The interviews especially provided great insight into the minds of those who create the MINI.
The MINI "culture" was spoken of a number of times, yet it was never clearly defined. I'd be interested in hearing some opinions.... I sense it a group of individuals with a desire for something both unique and high quality, with a splash of cutting edge technology. What are some aspects that go beyond the vehicle itself?
