First MINI Clubman Configurator Goes Live

MINI of Austria has released the first Clubman configurator on the web. The format is unfortunately the same poorly designed (and rather slow) configurator that has been used in European markets for years. However it gives us the first glimpse into what will and will not be available on the Clubman for the European market. Note that color availability (inside and out) may or may not be different for the US market.

Look for MINIUSA’s online configurator to launch later this fall.

I notice that it lets you configure a Hot Chocolate Clubman S, contrary to a report that it would be a Cooper-only color.

Pepper White with silver roof/c-pillars. Yikes. As far as I can tell the only colour combination not allowed is Astro Black+Black.

You also can’t do pure silver with silver c pillars either. I love dark silver with the silver roof. That’s what combination I would go with. I really hope MINI will bring silver roof option to the R56. (SOON)

O.k So take a peak at the Volvo website. (c30 configurator) Now a couple of their colors are hideous but at least they made it out of the 90′s. Mini listen to me I know what I want.

They are new wheels – Pace Spokes, 7×17. They look nice, what we can see of them here. Much nicer than the Crown Spokes.

Yes those are the Clubman exclusive 17″ wheels. They should be standard on the US sport package.

Hmm – appears that my Vista 64 and IE7 gives an error (in German?). All I can spot is that it support IE6 on XP. Will have to wait I guess…

I thought Hot Chocolate Metalic was Cooper Only (NO S)? Yet they just let me spec a Cooper S in HCM? Hmmm. What’s this? No special color for the S only?

So it looks like you can choose between two colors for the trim around the rear doors. Is this painted or plastic? Is is like the black trim around the front windows? I’m hoping it’s something that can be waxed and not plastic that will turn gray if wax gets on it.

BTW – PW with black rear trim looks strange
