White Roof Radio #182

miniLots of show for you tonight gang! Well worth the cost of admission I must admit.

We start with our tip of the week (check your lugs!) and Gabe tells about his experience with the JCW suspension on the track (he loved it!). Todd can’t figure out what his next car is going to be. Leave a comment below and tell him to just get a Clubman, please?

Mentioned last night and tonight, but AMVIV5 is a go! Details will be appearing on amviv.com shortly. For now, you can get the hotel information at NAM.

And, check back next week when we talk to the guys from Alta. Should be fun!

    Get a damn Clubman.

    Or not.

  • JohnPC

I hear the clubman will be mighty nice.

  • rkw

Clubman, but a Cooper not an S. You already have your fun performance car in the GP. Cooper Clubman would make a great daily driver and won’t encroach on your GP as far as performance.

Clubman. Clubman. Clubman. Clubman. Clubman. Clubman. Clubman.

Get a fwiggin Clubman!, probably the closest thing you can get to the beloved Scion Xb but cooler.

you already know you’re going to do it dude….!

    club. man.

  • Chuck

Get the Clubman with a roof rack for the occasional chair.

Gabe, I admit I am one of those that believe public streets aren’t race tracks, but the big thing is just being responsible for your actions. I have been cited before for excess speed, just feel that not bitching about being caught for it is my main view. Funny part is I have had a similar experience and know the exact feeling you were talking about all to well.

    Great show guys.

    (Clears throat, coughs, nudges) CLUBMAN!!!!

Great tip of the week. Folks should watch their lug torque and if they can’t afford a good torque wrench, they can alway pick one up on sale at Harbor Freight Tools for $10:

I have one (paid regular price) and it does the job well.

  • Bryan

Get a Scion xB.. the new ones look and handle great :)

    I have a question.

Why did itunes only suck down the first 10:36 of the show?

    Thanks, Bryan

PS Those clubmans sure do look nice.

sometimes that happens and I have no idea why. You can delete that episode then go back into iTunes on the WRR page and click the get episode button and you should get the whole thing.

If not, you can always download it directly (here is the link).

Change of name to protect the guilty… I’ve had a similar incident being bad on public roads.

On the way back from a cross-counry ride on the motorcycle I was really dropping the hammer coming through Montana (there are speed limits there now). I wanted to at least get to Spokane, or a little further that day and I got a late start due to tornado-like weather coming through Helena.

So making time… enjoying the mountain passes and virtually traffic-free roads. I close on a newer white pickup with canopy… and as I passed I read the emblem on the side of the truck “IDAHO STATE POLICE”. Look down at the speedo and, well lets just say I was clearly north of 150. Glance at the GPS since my second thought was “I don’t remember crossing into Idaho!”. Luckily A) I hadn’t… and B) There was no one waiting for me at the border when I did!

I just remember that sinking feeling and a few seconds later the throbbing in my low back from the massive adrenaline dump. Stupid, stupid.
