I sold most of my iPods as I upgraded. I kept the original 10gb version because I had it painted Chili Red to match my 1st MINI.

Man some of you really have generous amounts of disposable income to buy gadgets and toys..

So that’s nine all together in six years but don’t judge because that’s really between two people.

1G 4gb Nano – got the week they came out – now my wife’s 5G 30gb iPod – use it everyday and love it

I’d buy an iPhone, but no AT&T service here. I wish they would buy USCellular because it is here.

It would seem likely that I’ll be putting in an order for the 16gb iPod Touch. Seems like exactly what I need to replace my laptop on trips. Plus it fits in my MINI better.

2G 20gb iPod – got it as a holiday gift from the office – sold to get the 4G 4G 20gb iPod – got it with my friend’s Apple employee discount 1G 4gb Nano – got it as a holiday gift from the office (two years later) – My wife uses it.

This holiday is 2 years after the last iPod holiday gift. I wouldn’t mind getting one of the new Nanos, but I’ve got my eye on a 16gb iPod Touch. Looks like the kiddos will be getting some hand-me-downs.

And I’ll add that I’m more than happy to pay an extra $200 (or $100 I suppose) extra to have my iPhone two months early. It’s been well worth the money and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

My first MP3 player? A Rio 500 I bought in 1999 – I believe technically the 2nd consumer MP3 player ever released. I still have it and it still works like a charm.

Two months ago, I bought the 4gb iPhone. This has to be the best technology I have purchased, besides my Powerbook.

Now, Steve Jobs owes me some “mulla”, which will go towards the MINI!

I reluctantly put my 3rd gen iPod up on ebay last night in favor of not another iPod (i still have the same problems with that line) but an iPhone. I was one of the original owners that paid the stupid tax and even at that price it is indeed worth the money! With the recent price drop I have purchased my wife an iPhone as well. They truely are great devices and would recommend them to anyone, especially if you can pick up one of the $299 ones before they disappear!

On the MINI front, I would like to mention that the iPhone does work with my ice:link adapter pretty well. It even fits into the custom dock that I built for the car! My only gripe about the whole thing is that I have to ignore the message that pops up everytime i put it in the MINI dock. Sure that minor hassle could be fixed with buying a newer wiring kit, but it really isn’t that big of a deal.

Until then, my trusty 1st gen 4GB iPod Nano will continue to fulfill my music/podcast needs.
