Actually the first line of the press release says they stretched the wheelbase a "mere nine inches".

Love/hate the Mini press kit,usually has a lot of info but most of which is included to bring the general press up to speed on a car they may not have details for. Think Motoringfile readers won’t find any new in any of these because of the hard work of all the guys at WWR and Motoringfile.

Did they really streach the wheelbase by 9 inches? I thought it was increased by about 3.
