It seems to be more the norm vs. the exception... so no, it doesn't mean they will close their doors. Not necessarily. Bankruptcy – corporate BK more specifically – can be used for many functions. Re-organization is definitely one of those functions. Sometimes that isn’t an option depending on a number of variables. Without knowing more it’s hard to say what the plan is.
