MINI USA Press Release: For 2007, the division reported total sales of 42,045 automobiles, an increase of 7.3 percent, compared to the 39,171 cars reported through December of 2006. MINI USA also reported December sales of 3,562 automobiles, up 44.1 percent from the 2,472 cars sold in December 2006.
41%? WOW!
we really need an edit button…
44.1% WOW!
It’s too bad they don’t offer Silk Green on the R56. Sales would have been up more than 75%.
Go USA! Partially due to Gabe and MF readers. Well done Team!
That’s a huge freakin’ jump!?! Especially considering the stagnet state of the economy over the first week of 2008. US Dollar is in the toilet. Dow down another 200 points in the fist five minutes of trading today. Talks of a 1% interest rate drop over the next few months to encourage spending. Unemployment exceeding 5%. The “recession” word is being bantered about quite a bit.
But hellloooooo Clubman! I’m guessing that has to explain much of the jump. Is the breakdown availible somewhere? Ian’s site, perhaps?
Don’t forget that in December/January a year ago, the 2006 inventory was composed of final builds sent from the factory to keep cars on US dealers’ lots until the R56 came out in February. The R50/53 had completely ceased manufacture by this time last year.
Sales driven primarilly by the convertibles and the S.

agreed, a more accurate # would be based on the same month for 2005
Mini Sales USA since inception:
2002: 24,600
2003: 36,000
2004: 36,000
2005: 40,800
2006: 39,200
2007: 42,000
So a good year I would have thought.
So why do we need the SUV ??
