I'm completely with Jon on this one. BMW doesn't sell a 3 series with the M motor in it, they sell an M3, which is a complete car, with a visually distinguished exterior, and uprated mechanicals throughout, including the suspension.

It seems MINI is doing this one half way, or expecting people to shell out WAY to much for it.

Honestly, how much more could the JCW suspension cost if it was included? It still has two struts, two shocks, four springs, and two swaybars, they are just a different spec. Theoretically, that suspension could be included originally at very little additional cost. Same with the aero kit.

I'd pay (I mean, I'd literally go order one now) a base price of $27,000 for that car if it had the options described in the article plus the suspension and aero kit. Then just a matter of adding the multifunction wheel and I'd be set. I wouldn't pay that much for a car that looks just like a $21,000 mcs with different wheels.

A fun show, not really much new about the Factory car but still enjoyable.

Still believe Mini if off the mark not making this car visually different. It’s true that there are those that like pulling badges off their car to be a wolf in sheep clothing but then again I wonder how successfully any of the M series would be if they looked exactly like the others in their series? I also wonder how enthused a M buyer would be if they were not only offered a car that looks exactly like the main series car but then had to piece together the car with a standard aero kit and buy a suspension for it.

No doubt its going to be a nice car but have some rather series reservations about it.
